Carina was called to the Bar in 1997. Over the years Carina has represented the costs interests of various private, commercial, public sector and insurance clients on a diverse breadth of matters including healthcare, construction and professional indemnity, to include the high profile personal injury matter of Motto v Trafigura which entails what is thought to be the largest claim for costs made in the UK to date. She is frequently instructed at the early stages of proceedings to assist her clients with costs budgeting and security for costs, following on from which her focus is to reach a commercial and timely resolution for her clients, and if that is not attainable to represent their interests at detailed assessment. She is also instructed to audit and evaluate costs incurred in complex and large scale litigation and arbitration, both internationally and in the UK, including auditing a government's fees in the context of an arbitration, various Lloyds' insurance audits, audits for in-house counsel in multi-faceted/jurisdictional litigation, and for litigation funders.
