Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury

Masters deal with costs issues in relation to a wide range of clinical negligence and high value personal injury claims including in cases where some of the highest damages awards have been made.  In this field we work with a range of Legal 500 firms, most frequently with firms who specialise in high value personal injury and clinical negligence litigation. We are renowned for our attention to detail, our proactive approach to costs and our ability to give early advice and evaluation.

We act for Claimants' solicitors primarily in justifying, but also opposing, where necessary, costs relating to claims for clinical negligence against health-care providers and all types of personal injury claims against employers, public bodies and insurers. We are instructed by many leading clinical negligence and personal injury solicitors. The range of our instructions is wide and this places us in a prime position to provide excellent support and sound advice in this complex and challenging area. We are regularly instructed to act in substantial and contentious personal injury and high profile clinical negligence cases involving multimillion pound awards.

We have a wide range of experience in dealing with claims funded by conditional fee agreements, the Community Legal Services and private retainers (including those supported by before the event insurance). Our team has in-depth knowledge and extensive experience of working in these areas, including advocacy in high quantum complex cases.  Our team can provide advice at any stage in the case and work as part of your wider team to draft costs budgets. We provide a full costs budgeting and management service and prepare initial costs budgets; attend costs management hearings (and CMCs) to justify the same and provide a monitoring and updating costs management service.
